DOXYCYCLINE belongs to a group of medications called tetracyclineantibiotics, used to treat bacterial infections. DOXYCYCLINE treats urinary tract infections, intestinal infections, respiratory infections, eye infections, sexually transmitted infections (like gonorrhoea, syphilis), gum infections, diseases (like periodontitis), and others. Besides this, DOXYCYCLINE also treats acne-like lesions caused by rosacea. However, it does not treat facial redness caused by rosacea.
Dosage.
Tablet/capsule: Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it. Dispersible Tablet: Check the label for directions before use. Disperse the tablet in the prescribed amount of water and swallow the contents. Do not crush, chew or swallow as a whole.Side effects.
